That's some serious chicken strips (rear tyre). Your bike must be sitting seriously low if you dragging pegs so far from the edge of the tyre. You sure the shock isn't duff? Mine doesn't drag pegs with a 13 stone pillion.
It's comments like this that worry me. Unless you weigh around 3 stone then your carrying less weight than me....... We almost go back to the is the the low model. Ducati Cambridge tried to a search on info with the reg number and didn't find anything really . The heights I've checked against the charts supplied on here and whilst it didn't match the normal model the number I measured to be nearer the normal , not the lower model. *walks off to make another mug of tea with confused look *
That's cos you're "Mr Tea".... Miles tea bags pally.... Best I've had so far! Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
i test rode an 821 hyperstrada at ducati norwich. i was only out for around 30 minutes. but felt like i gave it a fair crack on some roundabouts and twisties and never gave the pegs or the centrestand a thought and i'm pushing 16 stone!!!
I'm 13st2. My colleague is the same pretty much. Both of us going to work results in me needing to show him all my skills, and we often take the lanes. I've leaned pretty low 2 up and not even a whiff of peg. My tyres have no chicken strips, still no pegs.
out of interest, what is the seat height? i'm sure it should be 810mm, i wonder if it's had a lowering kit fitted?
just looked at the ducati uk website and the information given is cocked up. the 2015 821 is 830mm/32.7in 2016 939 is 810mm/33.5in 2016 939 SP 890mm/32.0in the link you just posted he is asking about a 939 but yours is an 821?
850 , 860 seat height . It's defiantly the full fat version. I would say that it's not dragging its pegs , they touch down. The center stand is a god dam liability and when that goes down its frightening. What ever. I'm going to put my gear on and go for a blast for fun. See if the suspension mods have helped. I'll pay for the new seat and that will be here this week . As for tyres any one against my choice of Michelins power 3's ?
is there any reason you can't just remove the centre stand if it causes that much problem? mine used to get in the way on my bmw1200 adventure
Michelins power 3's or road pilots. I have the road pilots and can't fault them on mine. I had the 3's and now just got the 4's on. Pirelli road angel gts are another good alterative.
tyres and pressures could also have an influence. i used to run the battlax on my 2001 ZX6R and found them a good all round tyre. but if you look at the profile of the tyre it is very round, i have the supercorse sp's now and if you look they are almost egg shaped (i hope i'm making sense here lol) I found it much easier to roll to the edge of the battlax
So in summary The sag can't be set , you've tried The preload is now max The comp/reb screw max A good inch on side of tyres No pillion And scraping stuff It's buggerred mate. Swap it out or try a claim on warranty if it's new enough. If you bought from dealer get them to sort it
Well, now we're talking. First proper spin out today . The suspension is pretty much right up with extra rebound as well. On top of that is a rider now sitting on a race seat instead of the usual , and how much better is that ! That's lifting me up which makes the whole bike feel better both on my backside but in general all over. Sitting higher also seems to help foot position believe it or not. The extra suspension seems to have given me the extra clearance to the point of if I touch down a peg now it's a flipping heck type moment instead of regular. I had a bit of fun with two other bikes today , a 636 zx and a new 675 triumph on roads I know well. Following the zx I could keep with him pretty easy and he was trying . I clad get past him but the 675 was harder . I could stick with him but not pass. Interestingly I've also played with the electrics now and have swithed off them all in sport mode
