848 / 1098 Modifications - what did you do ?

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by Dubs, Jul 31, 2013.

  1. 2 new convex plates for my slipper clutch. Its still grabby. Going to replace the first 1.5 plain plate and the last 1.5 plain plate with the convex.

  2. When I was attempting to fit a rear hugger to my old Monster 1100, I dropped the equivalent screw *inside* the swing arm. Had to buy a tool which had a magnet on the end of an extendable stalk to retrieve it :Banghead:

  3. Yeah, it's a right pig of a job, isn't it? Ended up taking seat off and using 3 or 4 extension bars with the Allen key socket.

  4. Mods on my 1198? Tyres (when needed). Fuel (when needed!). Suspension set up (best £60 I've spent).

It's far better than me anyhow. Why waste money to make it show my inadequacies even more??

  5. Made it bettter and faster

  6. Full service, fairing change out (again), MRA screen, evotech rad and oilcooler guards, Superpole seat, new chain and sprockets and a damn good clean :D

  8. That looks well. Is that rear hugger & swing arm protector all one piece?

  9. Yep, got it a while ago from Magic Racing in Japan :upyeah:

  10. I also put a Oil Cooler guard on mine (Supplied by Conquest Carbon, a site supporter) as I got a massive stone chip within 500 miles on my guard. It looks great and seems to really protect the oil cooler, well worth £27 or however much it was.

  11. Already had to replace a rad due to flying 'rocks' , so made sense ;)

  12. Hey bettes,

The web address regarding my rear hugger is www.moto-works.jp , lots of goodies :)

  14. That's the thing, I figured it's less than £30 to protect the oil cooler, because I imagine a new one is significantly more than £30! I haven't done the radiator, I have never had one holed, but then again by my own argument it may well be worth doing.

  15. Its only ever worth doing when it happens ;)

  16. exactly, however I was 'slightly' concerned about the possibility of increased running temps, but it doesn't seem like there have been issues in our climate.

  17. Nice :D (my 848)

  18. You've done exactly what I did @Phill748. I then got a massive stone smacking the radiator and was lucky not to hole it..... I now have a rad guard too!

  19. Blimey Arthur, the more I see the detail in your 848 the more I like it, would love to have seen it in the flesh when I was over :upyeah: carbon bars as well ?
