Difference between the 2012 and the 2013 versions is the 2013 has a 18L tank as opposed to the 15.5L of the 2012, and the 2013 version just comes painted in primer.
This is true. No it's worse, the black isn't even paint it's just raw black plastic as far as I can tell. But hey, less paint saves weight (which I'm sure is Ducati's excuse).
Having had two bikes with matte bodywork I can confirm its a lot bloody quicker to clean despite the 'it doesn't look quite finished' vibe.
Oh hold on I was there that week as it was just after I got mine. Is yours like ETs, ie the 2012 or like mine the 2013? If the 2013 then yes I saw it and blooming typical that there was another there on my first trip down on it....
Just a wee aside on the paint schemes... When I first saw the 2012 Corse model in pics I didn't like it, then it grew on me and I ordered one for March. Then they changed the paint scheme over the winter for the 2013 model. When I first saw that I didn't like it... then it grew on me and I was happy with it. Now I love it. The more I see my bike, the more I like the colours and the shape. Funny how it grows on you. For the record I'm not going to polish any of it, other than the end caps of the Termis. I'll keep it clean and tidy but polishing looks like it could maybe ruin it... not sure.
