  1. Are you picking up the bill Rob, or the seller?

  2. He's covering the bill, which could be lucky as they seem to think that the LCD is faulty which means £800 of new clocks! There goes any profit for this guy!

  3. Well, at £125 for a repair, I wouldn't feel too sorry for him, I'm sure he'll still pull a wedge of profit and manage to put food on the table tonight. :)

  4. Resolution has been reached, BBA Reman called to say it wasn't repairable and that a new dash would be required. The supplying (indy) dealer is organising a new dash to be sent to BBA to have the eeprom data copied with immobiliser & mileage etc then i should be back in business. Inconvenient but thankfully on the home straight now!

  5. Sounds like you've found a decent dealer....:upyeah:

  6. Fair enough, isn't it. :upyeah: He sounds like he's tried to do th right thing by you.

  7. Rob687, if you get the faulty dash back I will buy it from you as I need a new front for mine as the clear plastic has cracked. Don't need any working internals.

  8. I'll let you know if and when it comes back.

  9. I would contact them and tell them you want the old one back for a few reasons.
    Guvs.

  10. I've done just that, just need the supplying dealer to pay the bill before it comes back to me. fingers crossed!

  11. Bike is finally back together. It starts, runs and rides as before. Jist struggling to get the immobiliser paired up to the keys. Ive followed the instructions in the workshop manual bit the dash won't take the keys. Seems weird as everything else is perfect?

    Can anyone offer any pointers?

  12. You did the thing with putting the keys in before the countdown?

  13. Yep! I've done some more hunting and possibly found my answer so I'll try again in the morning and fingers crossed it'll be a success. Seems that I need to input the key code number into the new dash so it syncs up with the immobiliser circuit and the key transponders.

  14. Yep! This just seems to drag on and on, I'm getting incredibly frustrated now...

I went to Seastar Ducati near me armed with both keys, my key card and the story thus far. The new clocks won't accept the code from the key card and consequently I get the key countdown every time I turn the bike on. They also confirmed that the immobiliser is inoperative until the dash accepts the code.

I spoke to the guy who supplied it and he's going to pick it up next week and "get it sorted" Ive got a sneaky feeling that the dash he supplied has been previously tried on another bike and has got a different immobiliser code stored in it.

Very frustrating start to ducati ownership which is a shame as when I ride it, I love it!
