Good bike, would beat an 848 if you raced from London to Glasgow, you wouldn't need quite so many stops on the F800 ead:
Thanks guys. I may have been a little premature in my test ride! I should have sold my bike first. I may well have an affordability problem if it doesn't go for a good price! I want an 848 now! Dag-nammit! Carlos, you're right. The F800 isn't a bad bike. It's uber practical and I replaced my R1 with it as I wanted to do some touring. That never happened, and I doubt it ever will, so who needs practical? Plus I miss the adrenalin and quality of ride of a sports bike. As for the race, the BM May just have the edge - check this out:
What size tank is the 848? Is it 18 litre and the tank range about 100? Totally impractical - I love it!
If you've got most of the cash, or think you have, why don't you just get a bank loan to finance the difference? I'm not that much in favour of using credit to finance bikes, but if it's only a small part of it, why not? In the past I have got 3 year loans which I pay off after a few months or a year. The longer time helps the early cash flow. At least that way you can get the bike you want, and you implied that you were within £1'000 of being able to afford it. That's not exactly a massive debt.
Thanks Blanco - it's already in the watch list, and we have family up that way! I prefer white, but then I prefer the bike more than the colour! Red is out as my leathers and lid are mainly blue & white.
As above,if you were to use a credit card you may as well get it on 0% finance after trading yours in.....come on.....get one!!!!!
Yeah Glid, I'm thinking along the same lines, or at least to get a temporary loan to pay off once the bikes sold. I don't want to go too far beyond my means as we have a 3 week old baby who has to go to a nursery when my wife returns to work. Don't think putting my bike as a priority would cut it??
I had a blue r6,then got the red 848,leathers had to go to make way for new ones, nightmare trying to explain to the mrs how I need to match when I'm riding the bike!
Bet that was a fun conversation? Bummer after working so hard to convince her you need to change your bike! Haha. I'm not too attached to my leathers, just can't be assed to start trying others on!
Good luck mate! I've told my wife a Ducati is an investment, sort of like a savings account I can enjoy!
Yep got the bike then I said I'd never want for anything else, next was the leathers/gloves (nothing wrong with the old ones),next it will be the 899 panigale but don't want to push my luck for a couple more years!
I don't think I've kept a bike for longer than 18 months so I need to break that trend with my next bike! It's gotta be a good un.
