851 Charity Auction....

  1. Some paperwork.... manual, keys bit of history. The bike is currently wearing BOS cans, the originals will be supplied with it as will the paddock stand.

  2. As much as I would like to bag it for myself as it looks a lovely bike, I think you are underselling at £4000 even £5000 (sorry peeps).

Agree with Steeevvvooo. It just seems you need to work out how to do, which is the had part.

I think it is a very admirable thing you are doing but believe you will need to give people confidence to donate and all is above board like bringing in a third party like your local dealer - absolutely not casting any aspersions I wish you all the best. :upyeah:

Cheers Gaz (oh yeah count me in for a couple)

  8. Thanks Gaz

My local Ducati dealer know me and will verify that I am genuine, have even offered to display the bike on their premises.

No money raised will go through my hands, only what it is costing me... lol; it will go directly to a 'just giving page' I will set up.

    More to follow....

  9. Thanks very much fellas.... think there might be some appetite for this after all.

  10. Thanks very much Dave.

Right, this is how I am going to go about this.

I am going to start a new thread, for anyone interested, to pledge £10 a ticket. I would like to raise at least 4k.... so, 400 tickets at least. I want to do this as quick as possible, so anyone want to link this to other sites, feel free to do so. Ultimately, pledges and then subsequent tickets will only be done through this site, so others might have to register to join in....I am trying to keep it as simple as possible.

When we have achieved enough in pledges, I will then ask all those who have taken part to go to a 'just giving' web page I will set up, and donate... as Scouse Dave has pointed out, ticking the "gift aid" box adds at least another 25%.

Pingping and TT600 have offered their help and support. Snell's Ducati will verify they know me and this is genuine (even offered to display the bike in their showroom), Matt and Rob are aware, so hopefully all is in place to raise a decent amount for Welcome and HASAG; two Mesothelioma charities.

No money will go through my hands, only what it costs me.

I will ask someone independent, from me, to draw the winning ticket.

Thanks to everyone who has pledged so far. I would really appreciate all of you posting again on the thread I will set up directly.

I am overwhelmed by the generosity, comments and support I received, on this forum, so far.

I would also like to thank Ian for his offer to buy bike.... let see what we can raise first.

  11. Nice one, I hope it raises much more than £4k though. :upyeah:

I also hope I get the winning ticket...

    • Agree Agree x 1
    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  12. are you going to set a time limit after which the raffle is closed? Otherwise, you could have a fixed number of tickets (at £10 each maybe 700-800 or even more?). Stating which you will do before might make it easier to close out.

Once you have a just giving page hit all the major forums with the links... it may even get on BBC breakfast if you are lucky :)

  15. Yes, there will be a time limit; will see what happens over on the pledge thread, over the next week or so, set up a web page and say two or three weeks to close out ticket allocation. I don't want people to lose interest and so, hope to have the whole thing done and dusted within a month. Sound fair?

I don't mind a bit of publicity for the venture and exposure for the charities... but I'm remaining anonymous..lol.
