Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Cupid Stunt, Nov 5, 2013.

  1. Riders have a 899 with 7 miles on the clock for £11495,says new in there add, maybe there demo?

  2. Will do:upyeah:

  3. Picked mine up yesterday but it was pissing down really heavy so I just rode it home so can't really comment on what it is like yet but it does feel so different to my GSXR. Stiffer, vibrates alot and the noise is amazing loving it

  4. Didn't you get it out today?
I took the demo out again today bloody freezing but still a nice ride out.

  5. Was out on mine all day today! Did the M25 poppy run :)

  6. I did go out today, odometer now upto 72 miles, wasn't too chilly but bike was manky when I got home so had to wash it again. Thats twice in two days! Is that normal for Ducati ownership becoming this obsesive about keeping your bike clean?

I took it through a town and my ass got really hot from the exhaust that bends under the seat, its fine when your moving but not when you have to go through a few sets of traffic lights. That will be really uncomfortable in the summer. Im assuming its the same story on the 1199 has anyone used anything to insulate it from the heat?

  7. Errrrrrr Dave its not by chance the second bike with a rider waving to the crowd is it?

I went through traffic on the 899 and didnt notice no build up of heat, that cover over the exhaust loop is supposed to be a heat shield so maybe the heat is going around it and rising?

Have you ever ridden earlier models of Ducati's with under seat exhausts, the pipes come right up the inside of your right hand leg and boy the heat from those is major.

  8. That's cos it's a different type of bike
    Sounds like its shit :frown:
Is this from the rattling from the vibration you mentioned before
Despite all the shitty things you've just said about it? Or do you feel you have to say that?

  9. Ive only ever been on an 848 for about 20/30 mins about a year ago maybe bit longer, but my ass was definately getting quite toasty. Maybe something I will just have to get used to as all my previous bikes have all been japanese and never had or felt any excesive heat from anywhere.

  10. El Toro, just my basic/quick observations and thoughts as like I said in that post due to heavy rain I just rode it straight home almost all motorway so can't make any real comparason. The 50 or so miles I managed today and getting used to it although nothing spirited as im just running it in so far im pleased with it, the noise definately turns heads.

  11. its not very good is it my 1199 panni is roasting in the warm weather infact I thought it burnt my right ares cheek had to check when I got home ,making a few calls tomorrow could be on here very cheap watch this space,

  13. its going tomorrow me thinks for a s1000rr , you put any miles on that tractor you just bought ? chugga chugga ,

  14. Hey I took my 848 Evo up to North Weald last year run what you brung, Beat a gsxr 1000 and a ZX10 on the quarter mile strip not bad for a so called tractor.

  15. But its a Ducti tractor Ha Ha not a ugly bmw built by mecarno

  16. Its great for a little while but it soon becomes uncomfortable, won't be much fun in the summer though.

  17. Get thicker leathers lol

  18. It doesn't bother you at all if you are on the move. My R1 used to get hotter than my 848 and used to cook my bits on a regular basis.

  19. its a fire proof nappy you need
