the 848 looks mint I wish I had bought 1 ,maybe if a get a bigger garage might be on the shopping list,
I rode the 848 evo corse se last year, it was Snells demo, and thoroughly enjoyed it Dementor at Snells told me that once you've ridden one you wont need a Litre bike, how right he was, apparently the 899 is better but I doubt theyre be many 2nd hand ones around at the moment
Apparently the 899 is very comfortable!! Mate has a red/black/white 848 Evo SE Corse thing who's seat makes an oak plank feel plush.
Ive always found the seat to be fine. Its pretty solid when you're not moving but ergonomically for me its good.....I'd rather take the Evo than any other bike Ive got for a long trip. The only thing Ive done is changed it for the Performance one as the original is a bit slippy. Its easy to crush your nuts with those Brembos! EDIT - don't put your nuts IN the brembo's.......I mean you slide forward under braking!
These always room for one more I've got a 350Lc, Suzuki X7,KSR110 and a SF1098s looking for 899 or 848 and poss RGV250!! you carnt have enough toys. So is that a demo bike mate ?
Yep, my bike was in for service for an hour or 2 so I said could I nick there demo, 3 hrs later 125 miles I returned it with a stupid grin, awesome toy on the twisties at Pirbright quick shift was amazing as Dementor said it's got 2 power bands and when on full tilt it flies, and corners unbelievable you look at the corner and your through it.
There are some on here who have had both, they will compare the two. If u get an 848 u need a DP seat; it helps to stop u sliding around and makes the whole thing more acceptable!! The seat on the 848 is firm but it's wide and really flat, I quite like it; maybe I have a fat arse? I think it's as comfortable as my daytona with the gel seat.
I have a 848 and 899 tucked up in the garage. I have not long got back from a ride on the 899 and i love it,silky smooth power delivery throughout the rev range(yes i am running it in but i use the whole rev range)i think the 899 makes a better all round road bike as its quite flattering, you just get on it and ride it,i find the 848 has a few quirks and you have to ride it, but the 899 takes you for a ride,if you are a Ducati purist you may find the sq engine a bit to refined for a twin.I would have thought if you have a SF then a 848 would be to similar.
That or the the 899? That 848evo for me every time. Until they make an 899 with as nice a paint job of course. Hehe. Its still a much prettier shape.
Problem I have is My SF has only 2mile on it so don't know what its like !1 so I think a test ride will be needed
Came from an 848 to the 899. Wouldn't have had dreamt of changing it until I test rode the 899, better toy all round.
ronin what the power delivery like on the Panni compared to the 848 the tec spec on both bike there very close ??
