899 899 Superquadro - Ducati's Best Engine Ever?

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Poucher, Sep 3, 2014.

  1. How many 899's have hand-grenaded during serious workouts on track................................................

  2. I cant say I have heard about any grenade engines but had hear from a good source about leaking cases being a problem

  3. So by the time the 899 Evo arrives, all the issues will be sorted.

  4. Yeah, I have heard from a source about a couple that had pourous cases (actually I believe they were both early 1199) but out of all the bikes I think its still very rare and does get the attention it deserves from Ducati.

  5. not at all, I'm sure those parts are designed and manufactured to handle the power of the 1199 and more. As modern manufacturing is so accurate though I'm not so sure that less stress makes much difference? seems a bit of a lazy argument

  6. Hey-Hey!! ..these are not the sort of comments I want to be reading when I've just put me deposit down on a new bike FFS......are they that bad????.....I know its got a 2 year warranty, but what happens after that, sell it? like most of the 1199 owners seem to do?????? :(

  7. Unless you are racing it, reckon you'll be fine ;)

  8. Mine is sure to blow up at some point as did my 1098 and 1198:(

  9. I think there's a common denominator here :)

  10. My 1199 already did:mad:
