899 899 Throttle Stuck Open

  1. I missed the original thread, so have come into this new.
That must've been a scary experience, and glad you came out the corner ok
Can someone explain how the clutch didn't cut the drive ?

  2. It might not be the same thing, but a couple of weeks ago when I was setting off for a ride, I put the bike into first gear with the clutch pulled in and the bike surged forwards! I had to brake to stop myself and it was all a little unsettling. A bit of reading up on this later and it turned out that I needed to bleed the clutch. Sure enough when I bled it there was air in the system and all was well the next time out.

This obviously wasn't the reason for Stuart's stuck throttle, but could explain why pulling in the clutch didn't kill the revs...
