Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Joe P, Feb 11, 2016.

  1. Holy crap!! That must have bloody hurt o_O

  2. What was it that caused you to run off in the first place?

  3. Turn 8
    Damp track on Pirelli SCs
    First day
    Over reliance on TC
    Idiot

  4. I literally cried....

  5. New handlebar fitted. Grip needs gluing.

Took the trouble to drop the forks out and realign everything. Noticed the the steering lock had snapped off....oops

Rearsets now fully fitted with some nice Conquest Carbon heel guards....nice kit....ordered a matching shock cover. The cost of this bike is fast reaching 1299S ££££ territory....

Next job is the M50s. Offered them up and checked the brake lines fit. After studying the parts diagrams I worked out that if you swap the caliper to caliper line round the fittings line up with the different inlet positions on the M50s - and they did. The ABS caliper line is a bit awkward but I reckon it will be okay - key thing is that it's not too short. Just waiting for some new banjo bolts and washers and we're good to go. Got a 1199R master cylinder to fit also...

  6. What were the rear sets like to fit? haven't got round to fitting mine yet. anything i should know/look out for?

  7. Are we talking Ducabike? If so I'd be interested if you have any float on the gearlever. They fit pretty straightforward, just remember to measure heights and distances of the footrests and levers on the standard parts so you have a reference when you set up the rearsets. The only awkward part with the rearsets is bolting them to the footrest mounting plate because it's quite hard to get at the bottom bolt once it's all in situ. I actually took the mounting plates off, assembled the rearsets on them and then put back on the bike. The swing arm pivot clamp is only 8Nm when you do it back up though so be careful....

  8. sorry to see your bike like that

did you measure the adjustment on the rearsets? do they allow to go much lower on the pegs or just higher?

  9. I've got them on the lowest setting. About 7mm lower

  10. that handy to know

the 959 has a higher seat and slightly lower pegs compared to 899 i think but if i need more room these might do the trick

    do they seem good quality?

  11. Not sure tbh. They are £550 new and that seems like a lot of money. I bought them second hand. There is a lot of float on the gear lever. Certainly they don't compare to Lightech which I've had before and are fantastic.....

  12. Ouch!

  13. Isn't there something about M50s not being a straight swap at least in terms of they way they work rather than the way they fit?

  14. ABS pump think I read but don't quote me

  15. Didn't want to say anything but I've also heard u can't use the m50's with the abs pump on the 899. Ginge has put the Brembo Monoblocs off the 848evo/1098s on his and some other tweeks, this is prob the way I would go.

  16. I don't believe there is an issue with retaining the 899 ABS pump, I can't find any reference to this. For sure you need to use a different master cylinder (I have the MC from a 1199r) and for sure you need to reverse the caliper to caliper line. Everyone seems to report that it's a great upgrade......

  17. M50s fitted and lines all torqued up. Lines were a nice fit.....

1199 Master cylinder fitted and ready to go. Fitted my favourite ASV levers too.....

    And the matching clutch lever

Next job is to bleed the brakes through....
