Brembo Supersport discs fitted. 330mm and the correct disc friction surface depth for the M50s. Needed 5mm spacers and longer caliper bolts....took the opportunity to put some titanium disc bolts on....totally not necessary but they look nice... All the right bits in the right places now..
Gettin the front wheel airborne on the 899 is a moment to savour oyou want to make the most of it not spoil it.
Nearly there.... Got the new top fairing on. Another hateful task on the Panigale.... It's not a perfect colour match but close enough... Cut a little slot so I can get to the expansion tank cap without having to remove the fairing... Just got the tank decals to pop on now.... Plus I think my Talon rear sprocket is out of true because despite fitting a new chain I've got a real tight spot in the same place every revolution of the rear wheel. Not a showstopper but a bit of a pain...gonna pop a DTI on it later and see what's what
Hey Matey, I don't know TBH I haven't taken the bike out since I fitted them..... I'll get it out next week. We'll have to hook up.
I had the same after I put on a Renthal chain and sprocket kit, you could see the chain rising above the exhaust in sync with the rear wheel turning, I took the back wheel out again and turned the sprocket carrier / cush drive through 180 deg and put it back in, a lot better but not 100% perfect. If your sticking a DTI on it, you obviously know what your up to Joe
Tested the Talon rear sprocket with a DTI. Got a 0.5mm variation on the radius. Enough to create a significant tight spot..... Only used it for 200miles, must've been like it from new and I mistakenly thought it was the chain. Ordered a new sprocket.....after wasting £70 on a new chain.
Sneak preview of finished article, crap picture....Better pictures and full spec write up to follow....
