  1. I am at this stage with my 851 reno, I think the swing arm has been stripped, I need to try and check (it looks dull).
Now looking for someone to re anodise.
If you diy it, check how long to leave the stripper on and I think all carbon steel parts need to be removed, there were some thread inserts in mine.

To be honest for the small bit you have I would be tempted to polish it up and try and blend it in, but it's your choice.

    Cheers Gaz

  2. I had a play with the scotchbrite and wet,dry and very pleased with how it came out, did bother lower side rails only
and won’t be getting it coated should save me around £70,

  3. good effort, looks nice, it may dull a little over time, perhaps a wipe of ACF50 or similar every now and again may help.

  4. I had great results on my Aprilia RS250 frame using clear cerakote over the polished surface, it looks very similar to the original bright anodised finish

  6. You did well,
I'm seeing Cerakote used on many bike builds/parts now.

  7. It's a great way of sealing whatever finish you decide to go with, unfortunately raw aluminium tarnishes fairly quickly and needs regular polishing to keep looking good
