I doubt it......Can't recall why...... ....and there are two versions of the carbed SS front wheels, which look alike until you give them a close inspection.
Actually, they don't look the same.............the spokes on the carbed ones are wider at the rim, whereas the IE spokes are wider at the hub. Just thought I would mention it......
Apart from the ellyfant, it looks the same as a carbed SS one........What's the axle diameter and wheel rim width? Should be 17mm and 5.5"; and the diameter at 17". The front will cause you a problem...........There are two axles sizes on the carbed SS (17mm and 20mm).....although the bearings and internal spacers can be changed to suit whichever axle, the machining in the two hubs for speedo drives is entirely different as are the actual speedo drive units......basically not interchangeable. So you will need to establish which speedo drive you have and hope that it will fit one of the carbed SS wheels.
Don't take my word for definite that they won't fit or can't be made to fit..............but I'm certain you will have problems, particularly with the front. 'Chris' on this forum should be able to confirm one way or the other.
Got a late ie 900 with the half fairing and after market bars and ducati performance pipes only real issue I have ever had with the bike is never follow a 748 or 749 into a corner, you will need to seriously back off the throttle coming out of the corner apart from that never ever had any problems
As Al says, they will fit if the axle is the same. They can be modified to fit with spacers if you have access to a lathe. Carby is my fave although i would have one of each.
IE front axle is 25mm. Speedo drives are different gearing. Lots of problems. No benefit. 5 spoke from st4s should go in without too much grief and theyre lighter and stronger but they are expensive as the 851 crowd snap them up.
tidy .......the bike not the garden but who cares about gardens bin in picture 1 point bike in house 1 point
As you probably gathered, it's not from an Elefant - sorry PompeyPete. The only non-spoke wheels fitted to an Elefant were on the 125 2-strokes and they were narrower/different cush-drive/smaller axle. It looks like an early wheel as fitted to first belt 900/750SS (around 89/90) and then next carb 900/750SS and also 851. Interchangeable with later Monster as well providing axle checked out. Cagiva always had a thing about putting their Elefant logo* on every part on their bikes particularly around that era regardless of whether they were manufactured 'in-house' or not. (Ford U.K. were the same I know from personal experience). They even put it on key at one stage! *and nothing to do with the 'Elefant' models either necessarily
