Anyone with an IE wishing to join a Facebook group where the IE is more revered than here, I found one. I think it might be an English thing, pay more for something older, shitter etc......
Thanks. I got it for an absolute song nearly five years ago - I was looking for an SS with a budget of up to £2500 to spend. This one came up in the Scottish highlands and it became obvious the seller wanted to move it on. After the first eBay auction failed to attract any bids it was re listed for a completely reasonable starting price. I messaged the guy telling him that if it failed to sell a second time id give him £1400 for it. No bids the second time and I was on a plane to Scotland the following Saturday. My theory was that if I could ride it home without drama then it was a steal, and if it went bang there was enough left in the budget to fix it and move it on. I got home on the Sunday afternoon aboard a sweetly running duke, rather sore but with a huge smile and a pocket full of change. Since then it's been an absolute diamond, a really good bike. Can't say fairer than that!
Here you go. The banner is a carby one but there are loads of IE owners there, maybe half or more. Really helpful place. I got a TRIOM plastic lens headlight delivered for 50 quid from another member . Been waiting a while for one to come up at a sensible price. Quite rare being mostly on the 1000DS. And nearly 1kg lighter. Log in to Facebook | Facebook
Got mine for 1900 last year. Really chuffed. It had the ohlins shock, marchesini 5 spokes and chunky swingarm. Now seems a good time to get an IE for a good price.
