I was going to put a lot of time and effort into doing this conversion. However, it would be more prudent of me to wait till Couchy has finished his project, then buy it off him when he invariably sells it :biggrin:
1098 motor into a 916 chassis has been done here. Conversion airbox for 1098/1198 in 916/996 chassis - ducati.org forum | the home for ducati owners and enthusiasts I suspect it would be a better to bike though if you put 916 bodywork on a 1098.
If a 916 bodykit can be fitted, and made to look right, on a monster and an SS should be easy ;-) although tbh the seat on the newer bike looks much nicer, ala Nelson hybrid
