Yes Cookster we've started to discuss the bike when Tony was going through the work. Still a very interesting option to me if Tony decides to sell it. I think what he was refering to is me trying to figure out how to assess such restored bike compared to others in more "original" conditions I've seen, and understanding what was done / how. Btw, the bike I'd be looking for doesn't have to be "mint", actually by default more looking for a bike within "reasonable" budget I could ride without worrying too much Great mechanical riding condition and maintenance + clear history / documentation (= being sure of what I get) are the most important to me. And in the end how the price is matching the bike specifics compared to other opportunities.
Forgot to update! Bikes totally finished now and just been out on it today for MOT. Flew through but brakes are really wooden. Ordered some new pads and fluid and will get that changed. Bike absolutely flies so much more torque than the 748R!
Looks great, I do think the gold frame/wheels combo looks better then the grey. worth more wotsits for sure.
Might not get another 916 sps again either, the 748r is a cracking bike but the 916 is the first. Going to be worth more in the long run.
