Hey that is interesting. I've read about snells full monty builds on here a few times now. 137 is very healthy for a 996 but my Louigi Moto built one has put out 143 & 140 hp on different dynos and running bog standard heads. I can't recommend them enough.
Hi Steve, Mine isn't an SPS 'just' a Biposto. But Snells (and the Sigma website blurb) claim about 120bhp if I read the dyno charts right. If you read their explanation (see link below), you can see they designed this spec for a customer who wanted to take a standard Biposto racing and couldnt afford expensive SPS Egine parts. The real benefit with the Grunter spec is the mid-range, good for fast corner exits, which is achieved without sacrificing top end (what there is, that is, vs the luvverly SPSs). Ducati 996 Bip racer - Grunter i haven't dinoed mine, so can't vouch for the output. But I owned a 998S from new some years ago, and this 996 feels strong (though memory ain't so reliable for such a comparison I guess!). I will have it on track at the upcoming Ducati Donnington day on 28 May, so will let you know what I think after that. Are you coming by any chance? Your 851 sounds truly fun. I love the 851/888 look, and it must absolutely fly with that tuned motor.
