996 To 999 Throttle Bodies Help

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by speedy sie, Oct 25, 2014.

  1. The bigger air box on the standard TBs would probably keep the bottom/midrange cleaner than a single shower and give a bit more peak without any other mucking about. Then if you wanted to spend some worth while fiddling time you could gas flow, or at least clean up the heads. You know it makes sense.
Anyone, do the testastretta heads even have the same inlet length as a 996?

  2. Just picked up on this thread and probably a bit too late. Had a conversation with a couple of friends who are RS Corse anoraks and now committed to trying to fit 848 multi point injectors to my derestricted 748R throttle bodies that will be fitted to my 748RS. To be fair I'm not looking for gains in power or torque but better running at low throttle openings. @andyb, I'd be very interested in your experience fitting 998 throttle bodies to your 748R as that might have to be the way forward if I cannot make the 848 injectors fit the 748R housing.
