998s is an awesome machine, very pretty. You'll have old ladies pinching your bum in petrol stations and young college girls fainting at your feet.
Forget this one , i looked at that about 2 years ago and it must be on sale for about 4 or 5 years now . He said it's fitted with an R engine but paper work wasn't done , headlights are broke needs a full service , tyres , battery and the rest and for that price no thanks . The jap one on eBay your man was willing to take £8000 for that off me last year
Just for the record, wish I'd bought an SPS... there was one available when I bought my biposto but I decided to save the cash (well under half the price) but you'll get much better top end with the SPS. And if you go for a 916 or 996, it's worth getting a slipper clutch (mines a Sigma) if you intend to do track work. Nice problem to contemplate!
Yes, is a tough one. To be honest would like to keep as original as possible...very mild 1-2 track days per year. Already have 2 bikes for mostly track use. Brand new R1 prepared for track (202hp /188kg with half tank) when I fancy arm ripping power and leave 1/5 of my tyre on the corner exit(slide control is sublime on this thing) or I am using the 2 stroke race replica if I fancy high corner speed/late breaking and the ring ding doing sound.
Blimey, lucky you! That R1 sounds fabulous... as soon as I have some spare cash, I'll be looking into something similar! Good luck.
