  3. How’s the bike then?

  4. The bike is still down at the dealer. With it just being imported from Japan. I'm waiting on the bike being registered in the UK. It can take 2 to 3 weeks for the process to be completed! Once I have the bike I will start a thread on it. It has some aftermarket carbon fairings and other bits I will be looking to put back to standard which I will document.

  6. All in good time. When I went down to look at it. I had to get back home for a wedding so had limited time. I got down for them opening at 9 and had the deal done by 10. Then 2 and bit hours back to the house, dressed then got to the wedding at 1! All without my missus finding out until after the ceremony! In all the rush I got 1 photo of me sitting on it! It made for a good story while having dinner that night!
Oh, just to add it wasn't my wedding! :joy:

  9. Hopefully it is. I will get it stripped down to check it over and document on here when i get it. I have decided because i've bought the 998s i will be selling my 748 track bike. Can't see it getting used when the new one arrives. Will get an advert up this week for it.

  10. Did you check if a deep sump? The USA versions of the S were shallow sump, not sure about the Japan ones...

  11. It was one of the first things I checked for!

Well it's arrived. I forgot how nice this bike is in the flesh. I will try and get a look over it at the weekend.

  14. It is almost as nice as your 748 (I think I can say that as I too have one of each)!

  15. The 748 track bike is nice but being a track bike it not as clean as the 998!

  16. Andy j, I notice that the seat has no markings on it which makes me wonder if its a converted Biposto and that the side panels are not original either!!!!!

  17. Most the panels on the bike are not original and made of carbon fibre. I knew this when I bought it. I need to strip the bike down and see what's on it. I will be looking for some original panels for the bike over time. The dealer I bought it of had the bike checked by Ducati Preston and it left the factory as a 998s.

  18. Haters gotta hate!

  19. Haha, indeed! This bike was exactly what I was looking for. Wanted something that had I could use and not worry about scratching or damaging. I will get a better idea of what's on the bike once I give it a look over!
