  2. Not a hater at all but just an observation. Its always nice to take an interest in other members bikes and there possible history. Always interested in the 998 models and how they left the factory so your comment was without foundation.

  3. And take themselves too seriously! :p

  4. Actually Andy I'd keep those panels as I think they look better than the factory two piece items especially the top vents and how they're finished.

Here's mine (half of it anyway). There is hardly a standard part left on it; clutch lever and airbox maybe!

  6. That's how a bike should be......modified. A 996R airbox would complement that nicely. That's a lot of OSB you have there!

  7. I do have the airbox, I’m just too lazy to fit it so far (rather like laying that OSB floor)!

  8. That tank looks familiar :eyes:

  9. From @bettes earlier this year. You previously? I am very pleased with it now I have fixed a breather issue that was causing a vacuum and not supplying enough fuel. Also, I haven’t scratched it, that’s the usual light reflection issues.

  10. I appreciate anything anybody can tell me about this bike. I love these bikes and have always wanted one but I know very little about what should be on the bike and what shouldn't.
I will be running the bike with these panels. The plan is to commute and do track days on this bike.

  11. Nice bike! The plan will be ride it, mod it, enjoy it! I tend to modify most the vehicles I own!

  14. Jeez you are brave, most of us only look at ours and throw money at them!
If you going to commute, note that they run very hot. You can get a different thermal switch that lowers the temperature that the fans cut in. Or even fit a toggle switch that you can operate yourself. I rode mine into Geneva once and nearly had a heart attack watching the gauge climb relentlessly in our stop start traffic.

  16. Thanks!

  17. I live in a small rural town so traffic isn't a big issue. I will have a look into that though!

  18. Andy, just seen that you live north of the Thames, I didn't realise you had motorbikes oop norf! :D:yum:p

  19. So i got a bit of time after work to have a look over the bike.
    Heres the seat:

    rear subframe:

    slave cylinder:

    Sprocket cover:

    air tube:

    radiator guards:

    V panel:

    Side fairing:

    nose cone:

    Rear hugger:

Most of the parts seem to be Ducati apart from the two side panel and the nose cone. I could not find any manufacturer markings on them. The rear chain guide will need replaced because it has cracks in it:

The only other thing i found was the ends of the rear suspension rods were rusty:

The engine is clean on all the casings with no signs of corrosion and the rest of the bike is clean and i cant seem to find anything other than the chain guide and an old back tyre that will needing changed that will need attention. I have someone coming to hopefully buy my car tomorrow. So if all goes well with that i will get the bike out a ride and see what its like.

  20. Andy, is that a crack on the ride height adjuster casting or a casting mark?
