You will get some money back if you strip the engine and salvage the decent parts. £1000 will easily find you another engine, its just a shame you have had to learn the hard way.
Thats a shit sorry , you can see why I said I pity the poor bastard who'll buy it . It turns out you were the one. Junk the engine , and source one from ebay or breakers , hopefully a decent one
GUYS COME ON !!! DOnt be hopeless we tried the negine under pressure yesterday and it looks ok.We put on welding some special glue as well.I will put it back in the frame and i will try it how its doing and after that i will sell it for PETER JAMES i just joking.Defenetly if its will be shit then i will change the engine and if its will be ok then i will use the bike only on trackdays.
Fuck that, when it lets go and sprays the rear wheel with oil. If Peter James does not buy it then please find a new engine
Where did this Peter James is going to buy it shit come from ? :frown: I'd run a mile from that repair, and wouldn't give the time of day to some scroat trying to sell me that. I feel for you xb12r,you were caught by an odious twat selling that as a usable bike. I'd be looking for a replacement engine or at the very least sound crankcases , providing nothing else intenally is lunched.
special glue you say - and what type would that be... it looks like car body repair filler. good luck
Dear Peter! I was just joking with you that you will buy the bike please dont take it to wrong way.If my joke was to hard than i apologize. I sad if its will not working good i will buy a engine and i not planning to sell it.
Loctite hysol 3479A&B especiali for a aluminium with big heat resistance till 190degrees.Thanks for wishing good luck i will inform you about results.
Xbr12 , I feel you pain and frustration, and admire your tenacity and determination to put it right, however can't help feel your using a sticky plaster to sort something requiring major surgery? As I understand it the testastretta block is highly stressed bit of kit' couple this with the strain and vibration of the road use, and really you've got to bring in to question your own safety???? 5 or 6 addition fractures underneath the thing sounds as fragile as a faberge egg! I can't understand how cast engine cases have so many fatigue fractures perhaps a bad cast at the factory who knows but as said earlier if the arse drops out of it at speed I don't fancy your chances of staying upright once the chain and rear wheel have taken delivery of whatever comes out! Seriously dude bite the bullet and source a new engine, forget the previous owner you've now got the responsibility of putting it right and having a lovely machine to ride! Remember a repair' is just that. A repair! (Ps it's only coz we care)
any update on this pics of the rebuild ??? is it all done ??? success ??? Im just curious as its so close to the engine and swingarm mount
