  1. the bodge has worked well. totally hides evidence of the crack...

now take it to a dealer and part exchange it for another bike and anonymously tell them a week later so they dont sell it on.

    get rid

  2. 400 Euro for Biposta kit  . I threw away a Bip subframe as no one was interested on eBay and I may have got £40 for the seat and plastics!!

  3. I checked on a ebay as well but the price was nearly the same even more expensive so i decided to buy from hungary its only 40km from my house.BUt i still looking for some good muffler so if you want threw away some termignoni or akra please first let me know :)

  4. I dont gonna sell it as i told it before a will try how its running and everything will be ok then i will leave in that condition of oil will come out again then i will buy another engine.Anyway which engine is better the one with the deeper oiltank or the another one?

  5. deepsump

  6. I'd choose either of the two, as long as they didnt have giant cracks in them....:upyeah:

  7. xb please dont use that , if you do, dont use it on a busy highway , I hope that when it goes ,and it will ,that it starts with a little weep of oil to give you warning.
I really feel someone is going to get hurt using this bike. No one on here wants that, Ducati owners are a decent bunch who'll go out of their way for other bikers especially other ducati owners as is evident when you trawl through this site.
I'm just being honest with you and telling it like it is , dont be a fool , Testastretta motors are strong reliable motors that kick out a good chunk of power ,but a weakend casing having that power going through it ,especially in the vicinity of swingarm pivot points is a bad idea.

  8. Pete, thanks for the care but trust me first i will try the bike of course very carefuly and after few km when no oil comming out then i will try it on a racetrack.
Trust me i am not a some kind of amateur guy who repairing the bikes after the school.I reapiring more 5 years and my father repairing nearly 30years only motorbikes and he also told me that the best would be the other engine but this engine is deserve 1 more odds.Regrading this big vibration i put an extra silentblock at swingarm pivot and also between the engine and axle which is connect the swingarm with engine.
Just wish me a good luck and we will see how it goes :)

  9. Oh well that's ok then! Please don't come to Donnington on the 28th May

  10. Donnington its to far from me and anyway its not between my favorites maybe silverstone. I was on the donningotm race track in 2006 when i worked in scotland and my colleagues (also bikres) planned the nice trip on bikes.I had a Buell XB12R in that time. That was my first and the last bike which i bought as new.If i good remember i had lap times around 2min.
MR C once you should enyoj our slovakiaring its a very nice track to i will go on my Honda track bike so you dont need to afraid that i will spray you with a oil :)))

  11. Hi all,
Yesterday was the first start up after assembly.everything is running ok except my left front turn light :) . I warm up the egnine and let it run aprox 30min. after i checked the placesis where it was welded and itt looks ok till now.But i saw little oil flow but not on the place where it was welded but on the bottom where the engine bloks are fitting. How they can done this fuckin solutions. If you want to change gasket you need to remove the engine and disassemble the engine :(.
Guys please check your engines if they are totaly dry and no any drop of oil on it.Here are is picture how my bike looks at the moment. WP_000256.jpg

  12. ooh man. thats bad luck dude
your having a shit time of it

no oil here - your just not meant to see oil on the outside of a motorcycle or any other engine - especially a motorcycle engine

  13. Unless it's a pre unit Triumph:wink:

  14. Ok so you've fired up your repaired engine , I assume it's ticking over at about 11oo/1200 rpm and you've probably given it a few revs to 2500/3000 till the bike settled at tick over.
And theres a weep of oil down by the engine mounts (below your repairs).
Xb think about this , it's leaking oil sat still with the engine vibrating in the frame, and you seriously want to take it on road or track using revs anywhere from 3/8000 rpm plus the stresses from riding, cornering uneven surfaces and potholes etc.
Throw that engine in the skip and stop trying to convince yourself you can save something from a seriously bad piece of luck.
    Pete.

  17. Hopefully an engine change will sort you out and get you riding

  18. Don't forget you will be able to salvage some parts off your leaky engine and get some money back, so its not a total loss

  19. Wasn't somone after a gearbox?

  20. That might be me but I won't know before the weekend!

I think the OP is across the Channel whereas I have an option (I hope!) on a system closer to home, if I need it
