999 or 848 for trackdays

  1. 999 is still a fantastic bike, and like the 998 has a real modern feel , much better than the 916/996 series for track use . I'm sure that you'll enjoy it . I've probably got a front and rear wheel for one , and a set of discs if your interested ....

  2. Hello
I've tracked a 999R for 4/5 years and its been perfect. Spent daft money on it, but thats the Ducati thing...

Try and get a good prepped bike if you can as you still need to spend a few quid on a standard bike, even if they are a great 'base'.

They are not getting any younger but mine has stood the test of time with TLC and a warm garage.

Either the 848 or 999 (get an S or R as they are much better than the base model) will put a smile on you face.

  3. I have tracked the 848Evo and the 999. The Evo hangs onto the revs for longer but can bog down a bit coming out of corners if in too high a gear where the 999 is the opposite. Evo has awesome brakes and both benefit from a slipper clutch.

  4. Having had both I like my Ducati's with torque and now have a 999 for track use, they are also half the cost of an 848 and spare wheels are half the cost as they aren't still raced at high level, loads of readily available spares too. They are still an awesome bike for the majority of us
