999 Project finished - Nearly

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by Redand Grey, Mar 17, 2013.

  1. Thank you Guys for the positive feedback - Yes Im in love with it I have to say - What I do need however is a hint of sunshine and some temperatures nearer 10-12 degrees to prompt me out on the beast.

Re the question on the 999R - Yes its in superb condition too - Have to say that having bought it I have done nothing to it... as it really doesnt need anything... but it would benefit from some polishing and attention to detail. Which I will do in the next few months. I will probably add a new menu to the site with the 999R images. However the focus I have now is willing the fine weather ( Its ** snowing today!!) as I need to get them both out and do a comparison exercise - Right now Im reading an excellent book by Andrew Trevitt entitled Sportsbike suspension Tuning ( Really good) - Its very basic stuff and its a refresher for things I used to know but have long forgotten re sag, rebound etc. This is the preparation required to ensure i have both of them set up properly to make sure I get the best experience with them. There still remains the problem of a strategy to hold them both - still working on that - The best plan I have so far is that I promise we have a trip to disney maybe NEXT year with the kids - I reckon that will buy me a lot of credits and gives me time to save and clear overdraft hence allowing both 999 to stay in the garage. 9 Is that a plan or what ?
Downside its more cash ....you only live once I believe :)
