have same bracket on the 748. Was looking today to see if it would go on the 49 and you have answered the question! My damper has the wrong rose joint on it, it works but rubs on the tank a lil. Gunna find the correct damper one day and put this one on the 49 as I think its correct with the offset rose joint.

 

the one on my 748 looks the same as the one in your pic. I think the rose joint on the damper itself differs, offset on the 49 straight on the 48. Im using the offset on the 48 which is why it rubs on tank a bit. Might try it on the 49 tomorrow

 

yep, im talking bollox about the bracket! I've just been out and had a look and it is different to yours.
still think the damper itself is a 749 one.
