Ok, I did reply earlier but the post is held up awaiting mod approval so, in short (from the handbook): Setting special function (vehicle model and units of measurement) The engine control unit transmits the correct vehicle model and unit measurement information automatically for the instrument panel to display. To force a change of these parameters, turn the key from OFF to ON while holding down both buttons (1, fig. 8) and (2, fig. 8). Press the button (1) to scroll through available configurations. To store your selection, hold down the button (2) for 5 seconds, until the word OFF appears on the display. Set the key to OFF.
If your on a Mac try these: https://www.virtualbox.org/ -- Runs Windows as VM (free). CodeWeavers: Windows on Mac and Linux with the easiest and most affordable emulation - CodeWeavers -- Runs Windows apps on Intel OSX without installing Windows (14 days trial). Try also WineHQ: WineHQ - Run Windows applications on Linux, BSD, Solaris and Mac OS X - Windows apps running under OSX (as above but free).
This is for changing the regional display settings and will sort the KMPH to MPH problem. Using the Ducatidiag Writer Software you can do custom start up messages on the later bikes. For example Anth could have XxAnthxX as his start up message on his 848. I've done one for one of the 848 challenge riders so that they get their name and race number on start up.
Hi BaggaZee, thanks for the step by step for the 999, I did mention in my post that I thought the mph/kph and temp thing could be changed on the dash on the 999 as it can on the 848, 1098/1198 and hyper family.
Well that is interesting.....that feature has definitely been removed from the latter models tho :frown: Hence the feature being added to JP's ecu writer software.
Thanks Bagz I'll mess with that when I've got the time. It's a pity all your info for the 7/99 bikes has been lost with ducatisti's demise as it was danged useful.
Probably just as well, it makes it a bit easy to fool an ill-educated buyer. I know, I used it all the time as a tech reference. It's a shame and a massive annoyance.
