Hi Went out on 999s yesterday when the service tool indicator came on, little suprised as it has only been just over a year and 400 miles since it was last serviced, do I need a service? If not how can I get this reset without going to a dealership cost or is there anything I can do on the dash to get rid of it, Any help would be great 2003 model Andy
You should change oil/filter yearly so yes it's due. Easy job to do yourself. Reset the spanner icon with software such as DCDIAG. You'll also need something like this: Look at this on eBay UK 3 Pin to 16 Pin OBD2 Diagnostic Adapter Connector Cable for Fiat Alfa Lancia | eBay And some sort of OBD scanner. Lots of threads about the place.
Sorry to a thinky but where would I get the software from and Where would I find the three pun connection. Cheers
The connector is bottom left of battery box as you look at left side of bike. I can't remember top of my head the software I used in the end, will get the kids tablet tomorrow and find out. Find my thread on here, possibly in "technical help" or the 999 section on how to reset it. I did the same thing back about March.
Have a read of this, will tell you how to get into the ECU@ http://ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/engine-warning-light-at-launch-999.42463/ the first OBD I bought would not work, i thought it was me, but borrowed one off somebody else and it worked fine.
