A bit of KH green on this red forum

Discussion in 'Other Bikes' started by Roadtrip, Feb 27, 2014.

  1. i might know some one with one of them in there shed doing nothing, i will find out. i know its a 2stroke triple.

  2. That engine pic made me feel queasy:frown:

The KH was my dream bike as a spotty yoof, definitely the best looking 250 of the time.

  3. I'm intrigued by this. When so much metal has oxidised and is no longer metal, how do you restore something? A lot of what should be there is no longer there. When does cleaning just become replacement?

Looking at those photos you'd just want to skip it. This will be a very interesting thread.

  4. Not sure what would have the most rust the bike or the skip.

It came with a few spares, the tank is in great shape with no rust and the black pipes i swapped for a set of good original pipes with a few marks here and there, the set that came on the bike are dent and scuff free so a good bonus but and its a big but when i took them off one pipe had about a litre of water inside so i will with a lot of elbow grease a wire wheel and an acid bath dip them to see how they come out before i take them to a platers for chroming?

  7. Oh gosh. You're a star. After the first few pics of the alternator I wouldn't have even carried on with it. I can see now why there are so many rare/classic bikes still going. It's guys like you that just don't the words 'give up' and the world is a better place for it. :upyeah:

  8. WOW! The Kamikaze - a stunning bike. I need it so much. I wonder how many children he'd accept in exchange for it. I haven't got any but I'm sure I can rustle up a few if needs be.

  16. Brave bordering on suicidal!!

  17. Dont tell Mrs Boots but the dishwasher is also used by me as a parts washer. Also the oven is used to cure parts sprayed up, the bath is also a parts washer, used with gunk prior to finishing in the D/W. Her nail varnish remover goes missing too as that can be handy, as do her cotton wool, her tweezers, scissors, they all end up in the garage at times. Thankfully she doesn't use this forum.

  18. Used the bath to wash fairings, but dared not touch the washing machine!! She will be ex Mrs Duke soon, so I will be able to abuse any white goods I desire.

  19. In our heyday I built an 11 foot long chopper in our bedroom. The engine was at one stage in a shopping trolley in the corner.

I lived in a 22 storey tower block on the 10th.

Could I do this nowadays? Can I fuck. Apparently the romance wears out.
