At last a bit more progress, Picked them up today, down pipes and clamps are on the finished list. I had the chrome stripped off the pipes so i can get a few dent's repaired, might have to cut the back out of them to knock out the dents. One day i will be riding this, honest :Woot:
god have you not finished this yet???? kidding that is fecking amazing mate....i struggle to re fit the fairing on my bikes you are inspiring me to 'have a go' at the simple stuff
That bike, in that colour, was my poster bike when I was a nipper. Never happened of course, but I did have a ratty Mach 3 that broke down on a daily basis (to be fair I did buy it from a scrapyard...).
From what i have found out they made only 150 B5 models all in Kork ballington colours and also did the kh400 B5 in the same colour but don't know how many.
Picked these up today had them aqua blasted, also dropped barrels off for a rebore still on standard bore so lots of life left in them, Sent carbs away for aqua blasting and ultrasonic clean and have started a bit on the bottom end which needs a lot of cleaning.
I'm just amazed that you can get a bit of old tat, produced decades ago and make it look as if it has just rolled out of the factory. Astonishing.
Thanks for the reply chaps a bit more done, These were very very rough but now :Cigar: Ultrasonic cleaned and aqua blasted, polished brass
Also just started on the bottom end its never been apart, the clutch is in great condition i was expecting water to have got in but gaskets/seals did there job.
I hope so finm, I took a look at the list of costs last night lucky i didn't turn the light on :Wideyed:
Split the case's tonight, the first time they have been opened, Hope to drop them of for aqua blasting this week, Getting there.
