What type are the roof tiles and do you fit them? Trying to get the roof square on a timber building is a pita. I've had to trim all mine for the correct overhang once in situ.
the roof tiles are interlocking pantain? tiles? we will be fitting ourselves. ive cut hundreds of roofs but the tiling aint my bag at all. that said, i have seen it done so many times im confident we will get it right , albeit not as fast as a pro. id be tempted to pay a pro but they are just too greedy for me...
an example, my neighbour is a roofer. as i want it done quickly and we may not have much to do while this is being done i offered him a day rate @ 300 per day and we help him. he said "no, id prefer to give you a price".... im preferring hes sat at home like he has been for the last few months...

tell me about it!!!! i wish i was earning that. the offer was made to reflect the fact he is self employed and may potentionally earn more than that on price but i thought it was a realistic offer... turns out it aint worth getting out of bed for!!!! no great loss,, we will do it ourselves.
To be fair we don't offer/accept day rates and prefer to price each job. It's not that he may or may not make more than £300... it's just a way of working. After all you want a piece of work done, not his company. I understand prostitutes also offer either a by the hour service or so much for each service to a happy ending.
the thing is we may have nothing to do other than help him if we cant get materials to crack on elsewhere, which at the min is a reality. normally id just ask for a price and let him get on with it. that said, i have a pretty good idea of how long it will take and if his price came to more than 300 per day in the sky rocket,he could do one. hes a roofer, not a chippy!!!!
Oh the £300 was cash... Nice work if you get it... haven't see that our game for years. ... best we get is free beer for fixing the cellar... which normally still warm..
