I once paid a visit (well, that too later) to a friend in Magdalene College Cambrige and was highly amused to find that on every sheet of bog paper was printed "Now wash your hands". At the time (early 80s) Magdalene College was bottom of the Cambridge academic league table with an all-male, almost exclusively public school intake - though they we much nearer the top of the rowing and rugby charts. Was this an indictment of a public school education?
