Oh please, that is crass stupidity and not worthy of response. There are a load of reasons but if you can't understand them yourself then I despair.
One fifth of council tax goes to supporting final salary pension schemes, local councils are still allowing experienced senior officials to take early retirement in their early 50's on enhanced pensions so they never have to work again. How do I know this? Friend of ours who was acting chief executive of our local authority retired two years ago aged 52!
