Buy one get three free, pic posted 3 times Two up on the rear, took a bit of getting used to,limiter comes up quick. Most go for a remap over a pc,that said i dont know anyone running a pc or had a remap on a 899,the fueling is pretty spot on.
At 6ft4 and 15stone your exactly the same height/weight as me - a fine example of a strapping man!. But if like me you'll struggle with the pegs and pedal arrangement. I couldn't get comfortable and use the brake pedal effectively with the standard rearsets, so needed to buy some adjustable ones.
And the strangest thing big m is i get called big morgan lol gear side was fine but brake side was a pain more or less lifting foot to get back brake to work then again i rarely use the back brake unless on track to settle the bike but might have to more on the 899 as its missing a slipper clutch
I did think that its what ive done on all of my bikes so far but they've always been 600 4s so wasnt sure whats best for a twin
Agree, but had to get rid of the rusty standard chain and the rear sprocket was a sweetener. No not been on dyno, looked at a few engine upgrades, ruled out a full system as according to them who know the 899 headers are pretty good standard, the only thing i would like is, Ducati Accessories | Ducati Apparel | Ducati OEM Parts | Ducati Omaha 899 may have to have a engine rebuild over the winter if so i may look at changing a few things.
if you change sprockets does the t/c not have to be re-programmed ??? I know on my 1199 when I went 2up on the rear the dealer re chipped the t/c may be worth calling a dealer first as the t/c is not self learning like some ,
Dealer fitted chain at first service so i assume it was sorted, off to dealers this morning to book in engine problem so i will ask the question.
Im def gonna change things and add things was hoping for abit more power and the front brake on tbe one i test rode was good but not as good as the 1199 so want to make thst better
Asked about this today, was told its bullshit don't forget mines a 899,thinking about it why should it affect the tc it's not like you are changing the rear wheel radius and confusing the electronics and if it was possible to change/chip the tc then we could all run different size tyres with just a change to the settings.
well whatever mate I know when I had chain sprocket upgrade on 1199 , they had to re chip t/c .. the t/c works on revs , throttle position , rear / front wheel speed etc . if you change sprockets you increase revs , this was an official upgrade not a back street garage recall,
Not saying your wrong just reporting back on what i was told and trying to add a little logic, all be it not professional logic lol,i know there is a chain and sprocket kit for the 1199,maybe a ecu reflash is part of that kit ?.
yes mate it is they reflash the ecu , that's why they probably charge £200 for chain and sprocket kit but this is the 1199 ,
You spend more time off a bike than on it though! So you do spend time looking at it, isn't that part of the reason why you get a Ducati? Otherwise you wouldn't have added all those stickers to it would you? Plus the Temris on mine are definately louder than the standard cans.
Right quick update the deal i was gonna get on the bike might not happen was meant to be a 2nd hand 899 with 800miles on the clock but it might not be coming in so looks like im gonna bite the bullet and buy a new one they're going to give me a good deal and throw a free tail tidy on so not too bad im gonna order it this year but not take delivery until next year when its a 15 plate so what things do i need to start getting to put on it whwn its here? The termis are ordered and it def needs a taller screen but what else would you recommend ? Anyone changed the rosso corsas for supercorsas as thsts what i plan on doing too
