  2. Again, looks like I am right :p

  3. Did you actually read the wording in the screenshot?

It clearly states that all direction indicators must be inspected

It goes on to say what exceptions there are, and, the motorcycle listed on the original post, does not meet any of those exceptions, therefore, it must have indicators fitted to pass a regular motorcycle mot

  4. I just read a bit more than you copied:

    Position lamps
A motorcycle fitted with a headlamp does not need to have a front position lamp.

Direction indicators are not needed for motorcycles that do not have front and rear position lamps.

  5. Whilst the nerds debate the MOT details, I think the bike looks okay. I'd lose the stripe on the side and fit both lights but its all personal choice.

  6. I'll take that as a back-handed compliment......:p

    And for your inner nerd:

    backhanded compliment
An insult disguised as a compliment
"No, honey...I love yours. I don't even like them big."
    "Relax, sweetie...you were perfectly adequate."
"Your haircut really slims your face."
Since Michael is a pompous prick, I think I'll give him a backhanded compliment.

    :(

  7. Thanks for all input gents. After some consideration I decided against this one, but took the plunge for something a bit more standard. In Red, taking delivery early next week!! Exciting!! o_O

  13. I'm a new Ducatista too (just bought a Red 748), and I'm also ready to learn everything I can about these fantastic bikes.

  14. Early forks with 40mm caliper bolt spacing but later 5 spoke ally wheels. Early discs.
    BP subframe with Mono seat.
Lots of little additions - red bar ends. Ohlins stickers on Showa fork bottoms.

  15. Phew! No major dramas then.:) I was aware that the wheels werent the standard, (although I actually prefer the 5 spoke). The standard wheels actually came with it, but I "sold" those back to the dealer. It is coming with the original BIP seat, although Im interested in your subframe comment. Would it be considered standard practice to replace the sub frame when switching to a mono seat?

  16. No not really. Bijes of this age will have had some improvements, and anyone who has one on here who says they didn't either never rode it or is telling porkies ;) wheels and hip to mono seat conversion where two of the favourites.

Nice carbon airtime too by the lo of it...IMHO I'd get this mirrors coated red ;)
