Hi Anders, Welcome from Charlotte, NC (formerly Bicester, UK)! Beautiful bike and there's a lot to be said for an older bike that's been well cared for. I'm at that age where I quit chasing the latest, greatest (though the new 1299 Superleggerra is pretty damn sexy). I too realized my dream of buying a Ducati 1098R a few years ago, but wound up selling it because I wanted to make some updates but didn't want to ruin the integrity of the R model. Shortly after selling it, I picked up a 1098S, which aside from the frame and engine has pretty much been upgraded to my liking. A lot of enjoyable time spent in the garage tinkering, staring as well as riding. I hope you enjoy your Duc as much as I have mine.
