No. It means it's working really well, just won't last very long and the P-N junction will eventually punch through or melt. If open circuit all your bike electrics will fry, but more likely dead short, so it will quickly kill the stator. I think they have a crowbar / zener diode for protection. The trouble is on these modern slimmed down bikes everything is packed very closely together.

You need to pay attention, maybe read the thread back. I was perfectly aware of who you quoted and in what context. Just by keeping on accusing someone on not paying attention, doesn't make it so. My point was about internet 'experts' earlier in the thread, and that's it. From there an attempt has been made to 'help' me. Maybe I just believe other sources. A fact some seem unable to accept.
