  1. I nearly always use wine when cooking...and it certainly doesn't go in the food! ;)

  2. I agree but I have a recipe which for me takes it up a level
I have followed a keto diet for the last 10 months (lost 3 1/2 stone)
The cheese sauce in the Keto recipe is made by combining a pot of double cream a tub of Mascarpone and a handful of grated cheddar. No good for you if you are not on a fat burning diet though
I have another stone to go then I will revert back to a more normal diet

  3. Good on ya Higgy. I also do the keto from time to time...maybe for only 3 months at a time as I'm only 75kg on average... It does an amazing reset, I find even after you stop if you are just "steady" with your food (a bit of everything) you don't put the weight back on. And also it seems to be a great reset for the head too... ;)

  4. Oh good lord that does sound lush but is way too much dairy for me. I can't remember the last time I had cream with anything.

For the sauce good old cheddar & grated red leicester for the topping. It's the best cheese for grilling imo.

  5. In Hertfordshire there is a wonderful road & a fabulous Cheese Shop.
Simply follow the A507 from Baldock to Buntingford.

  12. I’ve enjoyed some fantastic cheeses over the years. Next door to the Mercure hotel in Alencon is the restaurant L'alezan, I think it was a Michelin star, but changed chef/hands and was trying hard to regain the accolade. We have eaten there a number of times and the cheese trolley is out of this world.

It’s not too far from the ferry.
