I’ve got Dainese 2 piece, really like the quality but the zip isn’t man enough and now splits from the middle, they’re 3yrs old. Other than that I’d rate them an 8
A bit of a way to go for me to be measured though dude ?? And I'm quite lucky I guess, most off the shelf stuff tends to fit me well anyway (providing it's the correct size off the shelf obviously)
I have Dianese textiles, lasted well, but zips had to be replaced on them strangely, but will certainly consider again Nige.
To be fair Dennis Hobbs measured me for my last suit when he was working for Scott . I think it was after he’d had a bump on the head and got my measurements mixed up with one of the kids in the mini bike series.
I've had a RST two piece for a couple of years and it's worn really well . If I was being 100% critial the trousers have stretched ? a little and aren't as snug as new . Wanted to buy Astar as I'm a tart but the RST stuff just fitted me better, whcih at the end of the day is what it's all about
Just to throw it in there I've got a "Held" one piece set....heavy but has some fuck off armour in them @El Toro has the exact same ones in the junior size!
I rate the RST leathers up there with the best and not over priced, There a very good fit on myself and quality of the zips etc are as good as it gets,, I bought a Dainese leather jacket (Ducati) earlier this year and although it has nice supple leather the quality of the zips are terrible, Even trying to start the zip is a mucking around, I didnt take to it at all,
I think following some very positive comments, the RST are moving to top of the list so far. J&S and Swindon next for some quick try on's, but RST sounding good.
Ive got there ventilator 5 textiles and blade leathers, You wont be disapointed thats for sure, Had the blade textiles before that, Never had one once of hassle with any of them, I dont use the back protector they come with, Rather use the full forcefield back armour. Theres no way that the Dainese leathers can be said to be a step above rst as mentioned a little up this thread, Maybe if they sort out there zips and fasteners, Just my opinion of course
Sold my Alpinestars leathers as it was like kneeling in glass when on the bike. I guess it’s an individual thing but I found Dainese much more comfortable.
I had (still have as a second set) a set of RST one piece leathers. Quality and armour was good for the price though they did stretch and get baggy around the arse area only. A couple of years ago I bought a set of Held leathers. Excellent fit, and superb armour. Though a tad pricey I’d definitely recommend them
You need to look at each manufactures model by model. Aplinestars make some utter garbage at their entry level price point. I have a Held suit, which I'm mostly pleased with, however one of the velcro knee pads is coming unstiched and Held are being very awkward about the repair. Like most things, you never know how 'good' they are until there's an issue.
I have used Dianese for a while and always found them comfy and well made except for the Zips they are crap As I have developed into a fatknacker I needed a new jacket I went and tried a few on The only one to fit my present shape was alpine stars, all the others the arms were too long I got a jacket from Sportsbikeshop last one reduced from £500 plus to £299 Superb vented summer jacket. Alpine stars have much better zips (kkk zips you can buy anywhere) They come with the other half of the zip so you or your tailor can fit it to your trousers of choice Mine now zip to my Dianese alongside the Dianese zip

Check out the Furygan range ... it’s really well put together and comes in non lairy designs .... Which you’ll need with that orange eyesore ... or risk looking like coco the clown
I never go for lairy shit anyway mate, blacks with a bit of white at worse. PS. Only an April fool would call the mighty SDR an eyesore !!
Read it already cheers, but I'm not generally swayed by press reviews as they tend to big up whoever buys the biggest lunches, so I'll just go with how something fits and how it feels tbh. I find owners reviews far far better than a journo most of the times. MCN is the biggest example of this, as they are as fickle as you like, and more or less always say the latest thing out is the best, and everything else is now shite, so in general, I'll stick with fit and feel. Off shift this weekend, so will buy something in this coming break. PS. Did half the companies not take part in that test anyway ??
