Alternative 530 pitch rear sprockets for the MTS1200?

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by AndyW, Mar 16, 2012.

  1. Well after much waiting and looking at all the alternatives, this sprocket carrier appeared on Ebay
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400285026868?s...984.m1497.l2649

So I have taken the plunge and ordered it as £79.95 seems a good price. Now only need to get a 42 (5% diff) or 43 tooth (7% diff and my probable choice as iys the same as 14 tooth front change which others have tried and liked) 530 rear sprocket at around £40 and a longer 530 chain maybe 112 links just to make sure its long enough.

With the holiday shut down for Xmas won't have everything sorted till January now, but will post an update when it gets fitted.

Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to everyone.

  2. Sprocket Centre US sell what you want Andy !

  4. Pumpman, was it a 530 pitch Carrier, Chain and Sprockets (non Std ie 42 teeth) you bought from Ducati Mondo?

  5. No Andy it was 525 and after getting the carrier i found out i had to use JT or Renthal aluminum (rubber) sprockets and i couldnt get a 40 tooth so had to settle for a 14 front and 38 rear and after i put the bloody things on i don't like the gearing now so back to the fucking drawing board or put the rip off Ducati parts on!

  6. Thanks.....I did send a message via their website asking if it was possible to order the 42T rear sprocket alone but never heard back :-( Found their email address now so tried again.

I have it on good authority that the Supersprox sprockets will at long last be available before the month end!

  7. Thats good news Andy, I emailed Supersprox Europe and never got a reply!

  8. At last.........alternative sizes of 530 pitch Ducati type replacement sprockets available :upyeah:

    ....'how to' article to come.

Everything straight forward with no issues with the slightly larger sprocket - purely for aesthetics I cut down the chain guard piece attached to the splash guard (both staying for the practical benefits;-)
    This is a Supersprox 42T

    Chain:
    DID 530 ZVM-X 108 Link Chain from intobikes.co.uk

    Primary sprocket
AFAM 15T / 530 (as per oe item) from biketorqueracing.co.uk

    Rear sprocket
42T / 530 (up two teeth from oe) Supersprox - direct from Supersprox in Czech Republic - http://www.supersprox.com
....don't think they've even been listed on the websites yet!

  9. Super nice Andy. That CNC will set it of a treat. If that isn't the cleanest rear end....ummmm :)

  10. What are the breakdown in prices Andy?

  11. 40-toother?

  12. Thanks AndyX11 :D

Best to shop around Bob, Google the product codes and see what comes up...........as you know I do a bit of 'wheeler dealering' (for want of a better description!) so I don't necessarily pay typical prices ;-)
I can recommend the service I got from intobikes.co.uk and bikeketorqueracing.co.uk - visit their sites for current prices.
    The AFAM primary sprocket is:
Part Number: 52900-15 (Steel Front Sprockets)
    Chain....Google: DID 530 ZVM-X 108 Link Chain

I have to confess I'm not sure what the final decision was on what 'sizes' of sprocket would be produced - contact Supersprox and ask (this lady is very helpful;-)
    aneta AT supersproxusa DOT com

I think that AFAM do a 40T Ducati style one piece sprocket ;-)

  16. Why thank you sir......although I can only take the credit for the intellect and good taste in the choice of what items to add to the checkout! Credit where credit's due.......thank you Supersprox, DID and CNC Racing.........and credit for the expert fitting

  17. Andy I realise I'm being very lazy but could you possibly give me a breakdown of what us mere mortals would have to pay for what you have achieved?

  18. That's sprocket porn! :)

  19. I know where you're coming from :D

Bloody hell Bob.....you're worse than me!!!!!

    Primary / countershaft sprocket - £15 + p&p
    DID 530ZVM-X Superstreet Gold/Gold 'X' Ring Chain - £106 + p&p
    Supersprox Ducati 530 pitch rear sprocket - £65 + p&p
All in all I guess you'd spend around £200

........as and when I meet you sometime........it'll be your 'round' ;-)
