  1. Hi
    Both well thanks.
My work here has been effected by covid, not too bad but like everyone we’re getting through it.
Missing the family, we got over to Ireland but had to meet up in the North.
It was a long trip through Scotland but worth it.
Haven’t got a little monster sorted as yet, with not seeing her (sister-in-law) things have gone off track a bit, not giving up though!
Nice to hear from you, say hello to Sally and the dogs from us.

  2. I'm looking now out of interest as I can't buy and have no license and no money. But..... is it a sign? my search, which is this:

    Reveals this:

And so, it may be another Ducati after all!!!

  3. What is the latest with your license now? Apologies if this is a stupid question but is there anything stopping you from starting from scratch, booking tests etc as a way to get a new license?

  4. I got a long letter today telling me a long list of what I have to do. I haven't bothered to study it today as it just depresses me! But they haven't told me to fook off which is better than usual. It didn't say anything more about eye tests which I guess is good but there was something about finding a driving instructor so I can pretend to be a little boy with provisional license, again. At that point, I stopped reading because I couldn't face it. I'll have another look tomorrow. It didn't explain how, after putting on my school shorts and blazer, I am supposed to drive this dual-control vehicle (for I am not to be trusted with anything more complicated) without a fooking driving license.

What started this off (apart from me being honest, that was a BIIIIIIIIIIG mistake) was that I took an eye test on my own violation at a local optician, before doing the private road driver assessment in Bristol. No dual-control cars and no L-plate learner driver sh1t. I don't know if that's all been forgotten, or this is just another hurdle that they've put up.

It's all very depressing. I know (well, I think) that my solicitor won't give up and jump sides because she won't get paid. Everyone else seems to be doing that. I used to get taxis to hospitals provided. That seems to have dried up and I'm expected to sort myself out. None of my physios have been paid either.

I know that I can throw a spanner in the works because they talk about me driving this and driving that, to meet their requirements. As I don't intend to get a car again, I could throw a spanner in the works by saying I only want to have my motorcycle license. But I won't, as I have not got a roadworthy bike at the moment and because I passed my driving license so long ago, I think that it's quite far-reaching in the categories that I can drive - pretty much everything up to HGV and PSV.

You do get punished for having motoring accidents caused by your own incompetence. Oh, hang on a minute, it was an accident that wasn't my fault and that has been confirmed by the Police and the other driver prosecuted! Well, DVLA have certainly taken sides...

  5. I've replied to their letter but, as I said in my reply, it is not clear. They don't say if I passed the eye test or not. I presume that they always want to keep the results secret, so you can never use it against anyone who hits you. I did observe (get the pun?) that they make me do the sight tests but not the other driver, who claimed that she didn't see (or hear) me and it does seem unfair that I am the one who has to do all the tests and not her. That will p1ss them off even more and I am considering giving up the whole gig and starting from scratch but I really don't want the hassle of doing any more fecking tests! If I wasn't so keen of riding a motorbike again, then I would just give up. I haven't investigated, but when I passed my bike test (on a 95mph RD250!) you could then ride anything anywhere. I guess the rules are a bit different now. And that is why youngsters don't ride bikes anymore. You'd think that the industry would be more worried about it, but as they see their audience reach retirement age, their obsession is creating 200 bhp bikes and not getting the fecking law changed!

I am in a bad mood as I have just had to deal with DVLA!!!

  6. My latest obsession is the Yamaha 900 Tracer GT. Everything I want is suppled as standard for less than 12k.

My obsession with Cirencester continues with Peter Hammond Ltd. They are Yamaha dealers now and years and years ago, when I lived near Swindon, when I was 16, we were all moped boys. One of us, who was minted, bought a Puch Grand Prix from Peter Hammond. I quite like reliving my youth - but with me buying from them!

If I ever get my license back an can climb aboard a bike, then the Tracer 900 is tempting. I could buy it and go touring the next day. I did test one from Fowlers years ago. I thought that was crap - the 700 I think. I remember being obsessed with the fuel remaining (Fowlers gave it to me nearly empty but I tried riding it to Bath) so, I would need to do a test ride on the 900 first.

    Anyone had any Tracer experience?

  7. And sensible wheel and tyre sizes, without all of of this "adventure" crap.

  8. Still tempted though...
