Ok, now I'm in chalons en champagne ... No particular reason... Well, I'd ridden about 250 miles with not much stopping at all and my arse was hurting. And It was a bit cold. Not a lot to see on the way here. Today was all about long straights and trucks... lots of trucks.. or lorries as you lot call em.. The lil scrambler don't like trucks.. Anyhu I booked a cheap apartment down a dodgy looking side street 500 mtrs from the centre. It's all good. It has a washing machine so that's a bonus and a lil kitchen so if I can find a lil shop I will have a fry up in the morn!!

When was your departure ? I was wanting to come over to get my multistrada and ride back to Spain ,portsmouth to Bilbao or Santander then home to Alicante, nice ride normally .
Just been sitting in the square chatting to 2 English blokes for a few hours...thwy went went to Italy to do some climbing... Good laugh.. They had spent 3 days camping in the poring rain , no climbing and are bailing out and heading home... The offered for me to join em for dinner in an hour but I can see it being a big night... So I'm going to a Chinese restaurant and getting home...french Chinese., this should be easy to order....
How do you mean mate? I left on the 8th? They still had one boat running but fully booked obviously ,and the second boatt back in service on the 14th I think they said... I depart Spain from Bilbao on the 11th ...
I'm hoping you are pleasantly surprised by the French Chinese. I used to eat at the one in Juan les Pins regularly, and the one in Evian.
Chinese fab!! Hope I still think so in the morn! Turns out this is quite a nice lil town... Very quiet but it is a Monday night... Went for a stroll for an hour and some very pretty places and old buildings.. typically my own went flat so very few pics.. a real shame as it's nice by night here.. Apparently the canals are really nice of an evening with light shows an stuff but it's a bit early in the week or season... I don't know which as despite the bar girl doing her best, it was mostly French to me...
Gunna try to fit in a wander around in the morn and get some more pics.. Would have really liked to get some evening snaps though as it really was nice viewing.. Another place ( like every where I've been so far) that I would like to spend more time in.. I really rate France and the people.. Never thought I'd say that!!!!
Think the only thing I won't miss about France is the prices!!! Was thinking of doing a night in Luxemburg but apparently that's even worse!!! So that's getting a 20 pound baby... Well, I may ride through but I'm not staying... Right, Bed time... can't watch a movie as I left my adaptor for laptop a few hotels back and the tv here has subtittles but in French so not much use to me.... I was wondering why they would do that ... guess it's for deaf people. French deaf obviously ,Not all deaf... Well all deaf can't hear French but not all can read it... they should use sign... Not that I can understand sign... Do they have accents in sign? Bet the Italians do....
