Re the electric, stick a credit card or business card in it when you leave room. 9 times out of 10 it works fine.
Hey Chiz. Just wanted to suggest this: last week I couldn't get a ferry back from Spain either, all sold out, due to Pont Aven issues. I rocked up to Santander on the day and told the girl at the Ferry check-in I didn't have a ticket and wanted to see if there were any no-shows and I'd take their spot. Worked like a charm and hopped onto the Portsmouth ferry. It's a bit of a roll of the dice but if you like living dangerously....
I have a ferry from Bilbao on Tuesday.. just wasn't sure with the tyre situation if I was gunna make it with out having to ride like a mad man.. Right cannes for coffee.. Getting the fuck outta this joint. Construction site over the rd that runs 24 hrs and one that started in the room next door at 8.00am .
Pick up the Route Napoleon and head north via Gap/Grenoble yhen Chateraux, Tours for Le Harve/Cherbourg/St Malo or the Channel ports......better riding and probably not that much different in miles.
