Right... decision time... do I stay another week? Just spoke to my boss, no probs there... money is tight but I think I can do it.... hmmmm...
Don't bother with Marseille it's a big industrialised dump. Aix en Provence, Arles, Nimes, are much better. St Remy-en-Provence is just beautiful, archetypical Provencal village. However, I agree with those above, forget Bilbao, head for Le Havre, more choices of ferries from the various Channel ports.
So where is a nice beach to stay at? I'm about 40 miles from Cannes 80 from Marseilles... I Need to rind Brittany ferries and change things soon..
Any hotel on the beach will cost an arm & a leg in that area. However, I'm guessing you're near St Tropez
bound to be help on here soon plus:-... https://advrider.com/f/threads/recommendation-for-2-day-ride-from-cannes-nice.1175332/ or do a more specific search on this here (sorry Rob/Tel ) :- https://advrider.com/f/search/74930447/?page=2&q=Cannes&o=relevance
Try Rayol Canadol sur Mer Cavaliere Le Lavandou They'll be better value for money than St Trop If you're anywhere near the D98 and La Mole take the D27 over the hills until it drops down into Rayol Canadel sur mer, it's very twisty. I spent 4 months of my life in the South of France with an M900, albeit 18 years ago now
Then stay on the DN7 to Le Cannet des Maures, there take the about D17 south to bypass Le Cannet, turn right onto the D558 after about 1.25 miles and follow signs for La Garde Freinet, D558 all the way. Stay on the D558 through to Grimaud then Cogolin then you'll pick up the D98. Either 1. Follow signs for St Tropez airport - heading west on the D98 - and then take the D27 just before La Mole to Rayol Canadel, or. 2. Head east on D98 to Les Maines de Cogolin then head south on the D559 to La Croix Valmer. This will take you down to the coast and eventually into Rayol Canadol. It's longer but you'll get in more coast road. Either way when you hit the coast road D559 you'll find somewhere to stop for the night.
I will get lost looking out for numbers... I'm just gunna follow the nav to le lavandou!! It's only an hour away
