Well I'm glad I didn't listen to that @PaulPhillips clown and head to Marseille... My idea of le lavandou was much better!!! And I discovered the d48 558 and 49 roads.. Fuck it's good to be me right now!!!! I'm so glad I got outta bed today!!! This is the view from my crummy 2 star digs... 50 mtrs from the beach and right in the centre...
My in-laws used to live at Les Issambres - must be pretty much where you are (or were, if you've been riding this afternoon). I bet there are hotels in St-Maxime - that's just down the road. Good places to go to are Bandol (between Marseilles and Toulon) and Cassis. These are the places and beaches you hang out at (or did) when the Bol d'Or is on at Le Castellet. Surely not high-season yet, so there must be plenty of places to stay. Don't get your bike nicked. Marseilles and environs are seriously dodgy. Think a Mediterranean Liverpool...
Im in le lavandou dude... and I ain't moving for 3 days... well, I'll might do some small day trips... They have a lil bike garage at the hotel so all's good there...
passed some rally dudes.. then waited 20 mins to take some pics.. I'd only passed em 5 mins earlier!!!!
Ran out of gas too... I'd only put €15 in at the last stop as it was €1.97 a ltr!!!! Lucky I had my 2ltr can on board..
And for all you twitchers out there, the lesser spotted beach bird... Now you know for sure I've left the UK!!
