Wahoooo!!! What a rush!!!!!! As I left cadaques 45 mins back, at the base of the mountain, there was a group of about 20 bikes pulling out . I found myself about mid pack .. the next 10 mins was the quickest and best riding ive done on lil scrambles.. I passed 5 or 6 on the way up but couldn't catch the front runners. As I got to the round about at the top they had pulled to the side.. I gave em a toot and a wave as I went past and buttoned of a bit 20 seconds later I look in my mirror and they are right behind me. So I gun it .. 15 or so corners later the front guy is on oy arse . I move over a lil and he passed me, knee down, on an Africa twin!!! I wasn't too surprised as I've seen what they can go like in capable hands and he was sporting no luggage.. I was surprised when a few mins later I was passed by a super scooter though!!! But that was it. The rest of the group that were chasing were miles back . Great start to the day!!!. And the first time I have ridden with other bikes on the scrambler really . Had a lil blast with some near mugello , but the roads were so tight they had no chance at all ..
When this thread reaches #10000 do we all get a weekend retreat spa voucher? So we can gather ourselves for the next #1000 posts.
Post #1901 - You are really selling the scrambler to the reader C, many ducati brownie points deserved for the last few paragraphs – prob have to edit out the super scooter bit though.
I went to the GP! For an hour .. got the hump and fucked off .. £40 and an hour of my life wasted .... Walked for half an hour trying to find somewhere to get a view, had an argument with a bunch of fucktards , thought about getting a burger and coke but the wait was about 30 mins so that was it.. Probably for the best as it was a long day on the bike .. 10 hours to cove 300 miles and that was with few stops . Did the first hour on a motorway to get past Barcelona but was so bored . So I pulled of and set the nav to a avoid motorways . 130 miles and 3 hours wit motorways or 175 and 5 hours without.. Started out good as we but the n240 but only for 20 miles... What followed was 2 hours of hell ... The worst roads I've ever seen I think.. 2 hours to cover 35 miles . And so hot... It was a desert with the only life being being olive farms for miles then nothing .. I saw one car in 2 hours .. there were even buzzards circling . The only villages I past through were deserted, not a soul.. Amazing scenery though... No pics as PHN was dead and to be honest, I would have love to take loads but didn't want to stop in case the bike didn't start or something . You really could be in trouble there in that heat ..
Stopped at the first village I saw that had life .. I encounter for the first time ever Spanish hillbillies .. Drunken, toothless, sunburnt hics . The only thing missing was a banjo, the had a ukulele instead... As I got off the bike one of em walked over and barked, what you want! This turned out to be the only English he or any of these interbred fucks spoke ... And they kept randomly yelling it at each other for the 10 mins I stayed .. There were in great voice though (not!) With their Spanish version of "old Mcdonald had a farm" I'd like to say it was fun but .. 3 of em kept circling the bike poking and prodding and asking me a barrage of questions in Spanish... yelling what you want every now and then...
Booked a hotel that turns out to be in a pedestrianised area... So the nav had a fit and sent me in circles for 20 mins in the searing heat Rikki parked up and walked for 20 with the bulk of my kit . But it's all over now and I've just sat down for dinner .. Rack of lamb ribs with patato . Yummy... Oh and there is a festival on.. always with the festival these lot!
It was exactly what I thought of as soon as I got off the bike. It was one of those situations where you don't want to be there, but are to scared to leave immediately, lest they get offended and chase you down in pick up trucks...
And Zaragoza is beautiful.. been here before but didn't look around... Done an hour site seeing after I showered up .. mostly because the restaurant I fancied didn't start serving food till 8.30.. Galato tied me over...
