Ordered this, https://evotech-performance.com/col...strada-v4-pikes-peak-cylinder-head-guard-2022 and a these, https://evotech-performance.com/col...-v4-pikes-peak-front-caliper-guard-2022-pair# yesterday, just before mid day and they were delivered this afternoon. Andy
I would have gone for the complete set: EP Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak Radiator Cylinder Head Guard Complete Set – Evotech-Performance Btw, discount code 'BENNETS-10' gets you 10% off.
The cylinder head guard was the only part Ducati could not supply. There are benefits to me, buying from my dealer as part of the bike purchase but thank you for the tip, hopefully it will help others who read this post. Andy
Has anyone fitted the Iconic Parts Radiator and oil filter guard set? https://iconicparts.uk/shop/ols/products/multistrada-v4-2021-radiator-guard-set Looks neat and as I was thinking of ordering the Sat Nav mount I thought I might get these as well
Are these a replacement for the original Ducati plastic parts which hold the Sat Nav mount in? @Android853sp
From what I can see, you remove the 2 triangular shaped bits of plastic trim you can see when sat on the bike. Not looked at the V4 in the flesh so I don't know what those 2 bits of plastic do. Andy
The triangular plastic Ducati parts are just covers on the screen mount, keep them just in case you remove the Iconic satnav mount. The Metal Iconic parts then replace the Ducati Covers using the same small bolts.
Apart from not using black coloured fasteners (easily resolved), the Iconic radiator / oil cooler guard set looks good. Totally different from the Evotech guard set which fits closers to the radiators and therefore forms deep recess at the back on both sides which collect leaves and other rubbish. The Iconic design has the radiator guards in the same plane as the oil cooler guard which seems like a good idea. I think you should be able to fit the Evotech cylinder head guard set below the Iconic radiator/oil cooler guards if you wanted. The Iconic sat nav mount is good and a lot more tidy than the Evotech design. There is some concern regarding the durability of the plastic components used on the Iconic mount which can be replaced by metals parts if required (if they don;t come as standard with the latest version).
I watched the video about the radiator covers and he said they now come with black bolts as that was their prototype.
Personally I think the complete Evotech guards set it a better bit of kit: EP Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak Radiator Cylinder Head Guard Complete Set – Evotech-Performance
I've got the Ducati Performance oil cooler guard and R&G radiator guards. Best of both worlds in my opinion and a snug easy fit so nothing gets behind them.
Yes, fitted to Multi V4S. Design traps leaves? In approx 6200 miles I've not seen a single leaf trapped in them if thats what Steve means and I've ridden this bike since December, many autumn rides too.
@Android853sp So my question was why do you need these as well if the upgraded bracket is now metal? Do they go somewhere else?
Ah ! The Iconic comes with the plastic mount as standard, the metal brackets are (my words) an upgrade but designed for 'off road' and are sold separately. Andy
I'm due to order the Iconic mount very soon. Are the standard plastic mounts a regular known problem and should I order the "off road" mounts at the same time? The bike will never go off road.
Okay, not sure how many of the Multistrada V4 sat nav mounts Iconic have sold so have no idea what the failure rate is. We definitely know of one person who had 2 fail and at £8 for the aluminium mounts, I think it's a no brainer. Andy
