Jack; if you enjoyed the bikesafe couple of hours. Do the IAM course for around £140. PM when you pass & didn't enjoy it & I'll give you half the cost of the course. Deal?
more likely they will make you pay more premium. Unless your underwriter ONLY accepts riders with a specific qualification
Spoken to Bennetts as there is no email address to contact them (wonder why??). The chap assured me several times it was "fine".......We believe you. So, after several minutes of to and frowing, he finally grasped that I have successfully passed my IAM motorcycle test, but this was back in 1980, I have lost my certificate and have no way of proving that i ever took the test let alone pass it. He says, cant you ask them to check their records in case of an accident? I dont think they will hold details of me passing in Bridgend summer of 1980, do you? Probably not he says. So, eventually, its check with his manager time. For the IAM to be valid you have to be a member, paying their annual subscription (guess where this is going). So, you cant have the discount. £25 please. But a lesson learned. Do not take the theiving b'strds at their word.
how do you know you are getting a 10% discount? did you go through all the drama to get a quote, then after they gave it you, tell em "oh, by the way, im IAM member" and theY dropped it 10%? not taking the piss here... just i don't trust the fuckers at all...
a mate of mine and myself used to share a flat. (not in a gay way) (not that I have a problem with gays or them sharing a flat) (but we weren't gay)(still aint)(sorry@loz) we had to move out due to the landlord selling the property. I found a place and he found a place 5 doors down which he now shares with his mum.. same post code as me.. my insurer at the time charged me 25 quid for the change of address , his told him 600 more due to the computer said so.. he rang everywhere and the best he could get was 500 more than what he was paying!!!! WTFF!!!!!! im sorry sir but that's the best we can do in your post code … we moved a half mile from the last place... how the fuck can you have compulsory insurance if there is basically no regulations? the companies claim the continual hike in prices is due to too many claims and companies losing money but the reality is, they aint lost shit... they just aint made as much as they predicted or promised share holders... EAT THE RICH
I’ve found Bemoto to be superb. To be honest though they are all nasty pieces of work who will try to wriggle out of paying out. Honesty is the best way to deal with these creatures..
I mean Bemoto have been good price wise but you only find out how good an insurance company is when you need to claim. I had a big claim that took 6years to finalise and the other sides insurance company made my life hell. Hence my hatred of these snakes. Hopefully that clarifies my post, which after reading it again was a bit odd. Sorry.
its not odd, I hate the cunts.. they are snakes and one of the reasons I will leave this country In debt.. if only I could cost these pieces of shit some money... unfortunately its rigged so as I would only be costing the working man more (most on this forum wont know what I mean)
Little update that might be or interest/use to some of you. Out of curiosity, I checked my other policies. IaM on 2 out of 3. So I called up the IaM not feeling hopeful. I am lucky in that I dont have a common name and they found me on their system (address and where I took the test and rough date - 1980!!). I could buy a copy certificate for £20 or renew my membership for £36 including a copy certificate. Job jobbed.
Motor insurance is a legal requirement, but as we all discover eventually, the word "insurance" has different meanings depending on what you want. It is remarkably easy to get covered, remarkably difficult to make a claim. I now take the highest excess I can to get the lowest quote and pay for my own damage. I just don't have the hours in the day to navigate the wall of indifference in the claims department.
I simply checked the IAM website; Just enter the code 'VB10' in the promotional code box when you checkout to receive your 10% discount.
