fitted the new CPS with no luck. But now it seems on my tach theres movement when I crank which is good. its gotta be the immo.
getting warm! (hopefully). Can the non-std wiring be removed or can you work out why and what it was doing with the aid of a good wiring diagram?
oh yeah I know exactly what its doing. Its basically setting the fuel pump and fan to operate on that switch.
not sure if you answered - did it ever have an additional alarm? Do you think the "aftermarket" software changes might be interrupting the std immobiliser somehow then? Funny how it didn't do it up until now though.
Nah no alarms. Although am told if the immo is disabled it either flashes or its off. But mines solid red which means ENGINE DISABLED. All the software says its impossible to start it. I need to find either the xdf file or offset that jpdiag creator is using. Since he seems to think the immo is on.
I havent checked tbh. It was intermittent that code as well. But am guessing if the tach moves it means that its working as it should
I can't speak for your instrument but starting to wonder if the answer lies within it - since it last ran has bike been stored in damp environment/did it get wet last time you used it? A bit late, but a lazy idea is to bring it in doors and sit it on a radiator for a day or so, as long as rad not tooo hot! I bring both of my (later) instruments in from time to time particularly when hard rain. Clue for mine is persistent condensation on inside of screen. From swatting up, mine are prone to absorbing damp causing corrosion on circuitry if constantly wet/damp.
see I wanna bring it inside to work on anyways cause the weather is freezing. but the missus is objecting at teh moment
the bitch fires finally. i took a stock map found here http://ecu-repo.spiro-media.de/ and used the 2003 xdf file to disable the immo. that one matched up. It fires but it dies straight away, has fired multiple times battery is knackered though so going on charge. but my fuel map is leaner at the bottom rpm range and higher at the top so guessing its the dp map. the stock one isn't though so might have to transplant it across.
Good news, hopefully you’re nearly there! With this thread in mind, and a rogue engine light problem, I bit the bullet today and split both instruments belonging to my early multiStradas.Glad to report that no corrosion or moisture visible but you can see from the dates of manufacture that both have been replaced in a short time from new (my bikes are 2003 and 2004) confirming the extent of the dashboard problem.
with a bit of a charge it fires, then stumbles and stalls. ama reset the tps tomorrow and check its not trying to use lambda sensors since there arent any
